Possibly he's listed in the Census or Tax records of Franklin County? Have you researched his name in Franklin County, KY? See if you can locate a, Henry Pulliam in Louisville, KY and if you're lucky and find him, follow him back in time..... Hope you're doing well. Mimi Thanks. The transcribed newspaper article was from Franklin, SImpson Co KY. There are several Henry Pulliams who could have been the Henry in the article - I cannot find a definite death date for any of the 3. The Henry who was involved with baseball shot himself in 1909 (thanks for the article), so there won't be a death certificate as KY did not keep them until 1911. The Henry Pulliam listed in the 1880 Allen Co Census was the son of William "Dink" and Mary "Polly" Louise Owen Pulliam and he is listed in the 1910 & 1920 Allen Co Census, so that removes him as the Henry Pulliam born in Allen who was involved with the National Baseball League. Thanks for everyone's response. Sharon ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

    3. Sharon, While Kentucky did not issue Death Certificates until 1911, there would have been other recordings of person's demise two years earlier, in 1909. The local newspaper would have had an article printed about a person who suffered a horrible death, such as a suicide. Details would have been listed, and possibly a location for a funeral or burial. I wonder if the Baseball Archives might have more detailed data about the person in question? I would bet my last dollar there has never been more than ONE, Henry Pulliam holding those positions of office as described in the article. If this Henry Pulliam lived in Franklin County, KY, he may have been a member of a Church and records could be attained from the church. If you belong to www.ancestry.com<http://www.ancestry.com/> do a search for ALL persons named, HENRY PULLIAM, from Allen County, and see who comes up from about 1850 to 1900 in which children's names are listed under the parents. At that point, you know how to follow the trail.
