I also think that Margaret Ellen Meador was the daughter of William Ervin Meador and Matilda Ellen Calvert. See census below: 1870 Allen County, KY William E. Meadors, age 29, b. Meador and wife Matilda E. Children not mentioned. http://www.allencountyky.com/database/will/M.html I have that William E. Meador married Matilda Ellen Calvert 22 Jan 1860 in Sumner County, TN. William's brother Jonathan Jason Meador was my husband Charles Meadors' g'grandfather. Jonathan Jason Meador married Elizabeth J. Bayles 23 Nov 1860 in Sumner County, TN. William's and Jonathan's parents were Lewis Wesley Meador and Lucinda Cowden who were married in Sumner County, TN 9 Mar 1837. I've searched for years for Lewis Wesley Meador's parents, but so far no luck. Hello Everyone, I have been searching my lines for 6 years and this past December I spent 3 days in searching cemeteries in both Allen County, KY and Macon County, TN. I spent a lot of time in the Puncheon Creek area and finally found Fishburn Cemetery. I was fortunate enough that when I stopped and asked a man if he knew where it was he said that he himself had actually cleared off this little cemetery the year before. The Cemetery sets in a clump of trees and I was surprised at the condition of the stones. Most of them broken or just weathered. A lot of junk, old tires and stuff laying on the ground just outside the cemetery. I did get lucky though and found the stone of my GGGrandfather (John Patrick Napier) of whom I was searching and his stone was still legible. I also found the little cemetery that sits beside Puncheon Creek. It is behind someone house up on a hill. I had earlier that day met a woman at Underwood Cem. which is just a few miles away from Puncheon Creek area and she told me how to find this little cemetery and said that the owners of the land did not mind visitors of the Cemetery. I had to crawl under a wire fence and ditch some cow patties, but I was able to get into the cemetery. I am not sure of the name of this Cemetery. It was pretty run down. I have many pics from Mt. Union Church Cem. and Pleasant Hill outside of Scottsville that include the surnames: Napier - Teel and some others. I also took pics at Bandy Cemetery. I saw several Payne headstones there and I wondered if anyone can tell me for certain that these Payne's tie into my line of Payne's. I search the following surnames if anyone would like to share info. I have taken a lot of pics of stones in both Allen County, KY and Macon County, TN and my line also includes Macon County, IL and Lovington, Moultrie County, IL Napier - Payne - Teel - Barbee - Doss - Stinson and many others. Amanda Jane Payne was my ggrandmother she was married to William Burton Napier. They had their children in the Puncheon Creek area and later moved to IL. Amanda Jane Payne d/o Josiah and Mary Ann (Archer) Payne had a sister named Daisy Ann Payne who married Lester Carter. Daisy Ann has always held a sort of fascination for me. I spent hours in Franklin, Simpson County, KY and I finally found her marker. I often wonder what she was like. I bet she was one special person. I was so happy the two markers I went searching for (John Patrick Napier and Daisy Ann Payne) I found. Mary Angeline Napier (d/o John Patrick and Martha E. Barbee) who was my great grandfathers sister married into the DRIVER family. Thanks!
Welcome Mary! You will find a great bunch of people at this site. The cemetery problem is a sore subject with me and I am working on a continual project with a cousin of mine to get the Counties to recognize the condition of our Country cemeteries. PLEASE, if you find any that have been desecrated, contact the county Attorney about it! We need voices on this and, can give you #'s and addresses of officials. Happy hunting!!! Sarah married into the Goodrum family and I was hoping that maybe one of the Goodrum's would know something about their gggguncle? ---------------------- Sarah Catherine Caldwell married Joel James "Jack" Goodrum 1863.
