Hello Allen County Folks! I was just wonderin' if any of these names ring a bell with anyone: George F. Brown (who worked on the L and N) (My great Grandpa) born in 1885 in Petroleum, Scottsville or Adolphus Supposedly his parents were Dan Brown and Ginnie LaFayette ... but am having lots of difficulties doing any serious research on them. George F. Brown was married to (Fannie) Pearl Anderson, and I think her dad was Dillard Anderson. Just tossin' out a Hail Mary. Thanks to all the folks who responded earlier to my Gaines queries, I had forgot that I had posted lots of stuff online already rootsweb, ancestry etc. Lance T. Fallin (born 1963), son of Virginia Lee Gaines (St Louis, Missouri 1944) and Richard Larry Fallin (born 1944) (my dad is from Arkansas though) grandson of Henry Ester Gaines (Scottsville, KY 1904) and Elsie Maud Brown (of Allen County) (although grandma was actually born in Gallatin, TN "1905" and raised in Scottsville, KY). Elsie Maud (Brown) Gaines is the Daughter of George F. Brown who worked on the L and N since he was 5 years old (this is what he told me when I was a little boy and just a year or two before he died in 1975 or 1976) (born 1885) He was buried there in Hickory Hill Cem. (I had asked him hahaha I was a little boy, I had asked him if I was to call him grandpa or great grandpa, and he said just call me grandpa, and I noticed he had a shot glass .. I think it was wild turkey ... and he had a cigar, and I asked him, how long you been smokin' and drinkin' Grandpaw? and he said ... since I started workin' on the railroad, and I said how old was ye when ya started workin' on th' railroad grandpaw? and he said ... 5 years old. (mom had told me he worked on the L and N) (of course that blew me away that he started working at that age, later on I found out that was fairly common back then, of course I didn't really start working myself till I was 13, I guess my grandkids will think that was young someday huh?
