    1. Re: [KYALLEN] Henry Pulliam
    2. I checked the only newspaper files available for the area for the period of July 15-August 15, 1909. - the Glasgow Daily News. No Obit or news item about his death. Therefore I believe that the Simpson Co KY newspaper was in error - getting the Henry's mixed up. It seems National Sports wasn't was important as now. 3. Although this is an older posting, I forgot to answer it, as there is one other source available for Odd birth, Death and marriages in the period from abt. 1903 through 1909. These are found on LDS films, that are directed to Birth, Death, and Marriage records that are dated from 1852 through 1860/62, depending on the county. The later dates are found at the end of each reel. They are available for the majority of the state. If you do order up the films, I would highly recommend ordering the same records for Warren Co., as well as Allen County, since some show up in one or the other as they were sister counties. Same applies for Barren, Logan and Simpson, as well. I found several items of help in those records in each category. These films are found as Birth, Death, Marriage in the Vitals section of the Catalog of LDS, on line., and be County. They're great records which show with dates, parentage, causes of death, ETC.. Well worth your time to look. I found many relatives and their children, siblings, parentage on each county site. You might even give them a call to see if they are on hand. If looking for Henry/Harry Pulliam, I would order up Franklin and Allen Cos.. It does appear that he died in New York and was buried in the Louisville area. Good Luck, and let me know what you find out. I'm curious now!!! See what you did!!! The local newspaper would have had an article printed about a person who suffered a horrible death, such as a suicide. Details would have been listed, and possibly a location for a funeral or burial. I wonder if the Baseball Archives might have more detailed data about the person in question? I would bet my last dollar there has never been more than ONE, Henry Pulliam holding those positions of office as described in the article. If this Henry Pulliam lived in Franklin County, KY, he may have been a member of a Church and records could be attained from the church. If you belong to www.ancestry.com<http://www.ancestry.com/<http://www.ancestry.com<http://www.ancestry.com/>> do a search for ALL persons named, HENRY PULLIAM, from Allen County, and see who comes up from about 1850 to 1900 in which children's names are listed under the parents. At that point, you kno! w how to follow the trail. Possibly he's listed in the Census or Tax records of Franklin County? Have you researched his name in Franklin County, KY? See if you can locate a, Henry Pulliam in Louisville, KY and if you're lucky and find him, follow him back in time..... Hope you're doing well. Mimi Thanks. The transcribed newspaper article was from Franklin, SImpson Co KY. There are several Henry Pulliams who could have been the Henry in the article - I cannot find a definite death date for any of the 3. The Henry who was involved with baseball shot himself in 1909 (thanks for the article), so there won't be a death certificate as KY did not keep them until 1911. The Henry Pulliam listed in the 1880 Allen Co Census was the son of William "Dink" and Mary "Polly" Louise Owen Pulliam and he is listed in the 1910 & 1920 Allen Co Census, so that removes him as the Henry Pulliam born in Allen who was involved with the National Baseball League. Thanks for everyone's response. Any map sources online to this? I really wish I would have begged to stay more with the grandparents when I was a kid. Oh the information I would have gotten! (smile) oh well, I was a kid but I did ask a few questions of a genealogical nature, better a little something than nothing. I think I have another line (maybe the Browns of the Scotsville area ... 2. For those that use the KY Genweb site and the national USGenWeb sites, there are a couple of new search engines you may find interesting. A volunteer for the USGenWeb has set up a national search engine. _http://www.usgenweb-search.us/_ (http://www.usgenweb-search.us/) There is now a search engine that encompasses all of KY _http://www.kygenweb.net/index.html_ (http://www.kygenweb.net/index.html) (Look at the bottom of the page) This will hopefully assist in opening some brick walls when we look for a missing sibling of an ancestor.
