Thanks, That is a line I am very interested in, that Joseph C. and M.J. Oxford are probably the parents of my husbands gr gr gr grandmother Mary Elizabeth (Bettie) Ogles that was married to Levi Graves. Is there any other info on them? Thanks so much, L.F (probably E.) is Louellen Ogles, sister to my Mary Elizabeth.....thanks again, Sandy Mildred <mildredm1@bellsouth.net> wrote: The actual birth is unclear It could be Joseph E. Hi Sandy and Mildred, I checked real quick and found the following : Joseph C. Ogles married Mary Jane Oxford as Mildred has said. They have a child mamed L.F. Ogles. As you follow the Oxford line it goes to Mary Jane's parents as Daniel Oxford and Mary Dinwiddie. They have a daughter Martha Oxford born 12 Aug 1783 died 30 Dec 1853... Martha married Richard Wilkins DERINGTON born 20 May 1794 Ky died 6 Aug 1865 in Henderson, Rusk Co., TX. I don't know if this could be the same Derrington family my Sarah Ogles whose brother John Ogles who married Louisa Derington in 1825 or not. But it is something to consider. I have Sarah and Joel H. Harris in my files, but I don't have any further info on her other than husband and children. I have done some research on the Ogles in the past also, I am related to them through marriages, more closely to the Taylors. My husbands gr gr gr grandparents were Levi Graves and Mary (Bettie) Ogles, daughter of a J.C. Ogles and M. J. ? I have never been able to run them down, the Ogles are very confusing at times....again I appreciate your time.... Marianne and Don, Thanks for your help, but I don't think that is the right person. Joseph Ervin Ogles, born 1861, was married to Margaret D. Taylor. Margaret was the daughter of Ewing Albert Taylor and Mary Williams. They were not married as of the 1880 census, but appear in Allen Co., Ky., in the 1900 census. I know of 3 children they had, but I only have initials for them. I have found a Jno. E. Ogles, born in 1862, in Logan Co., Ky in the household of William H. Ogles and Mary ? with many siblings in the 1880 census, but that is as close as I have come. In the 1900 census he is listed a Ervin Ogles. I don't have access to any info except what is online for now. I do appreciate your help!!
