    3. Since we are on the Taylor Family subject, can anyone identify the parentage of a Charles Taylor, D: 1799, married to Mary (Lewis) Taylor and, their daughter Frances (Fanny) Taylor who married Samuel P. Sublett, in Campbell Co., Va.. The bondsman for Frances' was William Taylor and Joseph Akin, and married 1799. I have chased this ghost for years with NO success. The Taylor family was all over the place at the time and am sure that they migrated to Warren/Allen co. 3. Hello Mary June, and again to, Sandra..... This is what I "think" has happened. The person who's wanting help with her, TAYLOR - POPE - DRAPER research has recently subscribed to KYALLEN@rootsweb.com<mailto:KYALLEN@rootsweb.com> however, I "think" she may have subscribed incorrectly and as a result....she may not be subscribed at all, she only thinks she is! Did I say that right? Anyway.....I emailed her a little while ago and asked her to send an email post to the Allen Co. List so we need to keep our eyes open for her post. If it doesn't come in, then she's obviously sending it to the wrong email address. I have no idea what else may be happening. Her name is Connie and her email address is, jcb2326@aol.com<mailto:jcb2326@aol.com> Hopefully it will work itself out. Life is GOOD..... The Ancestral file has opened and I have a wealth of data sent to me from a very distant cousin who saw a post I made, (in Spanish), and the file he sent, (in Spanish), has brought my connection to his line way back in Spain and Italy in the 1600's. I know this has nothing at all to do with Allen County, Kentucky but that's not what's important. The important thing I've learned from this is, "never give up". If one avenue of research doesn't work, then keep trying and eventually, hopefully, things will be discovered. Even the obstacle of a foreign language can be worked out as mine did. Thanks to those of you who emailed suggestions and help for me to be able to open the file this distant cousin emailed me. I downloaded the Family Ancestral File program last night and it allowed the file this person sent me to be opened. Today was better than Christmas. My gift of finally making an ancestral connection that sat in the dark for decades has been received. And.....with valid documentation. Yes.....I took Spanish in college but, "so what"? That was 45 years ago and I haven't got a clue what I'm reading. Hmmmm....? I'm about to wear out the, Google Language Tool that translates from one language to another but at this rate, it'll be another 45 yeas before I've translated this huge file! This brings me to my next situation which is..... When I tried to open another one of his files, it wouldn't open and I got a message saying, "WINDOWS CAN NOT OPEN THIS FILE" and I have no idea what to do in order to open the file. Using handy dandy Google translate tool again, I emailed the person in Mexico and told them about the problem. They emailed me back in Spanish and I translated it to English and this is what, "I think" he said for me to do. ------------------------------------------------------------------- (in Spanish)..... prima: tienes que tener en tu computadora de family search org. un programa que se llama paf.5 o ( personal ancestral file) nomber 4 o 5 y con ese debes poder leer lo que yo te envie al final. ---------------------------------------------------------- (which Google translated to English).... Does anyone out there understand any of this and can anyone out there PLEASE lend me a hand and tell me, educate me, and instruct me as to what I'm supposed to do in order to read this genealogical file? This file apparently goes all the way back to some of my earliest ancestors, (not from Kentucky - sorry), who migrated to the North American continent in the 1800's, and I would like to read the file! I just don't know how to get it to open. How do I always seem to get myself into these predicaments? >grin< Any helpers out there? Anyone a, Computer Whiz? Anyone out there really fluent in Spanish? 3. Hi Mimi, When you click on the paf icon on your desktop it should automatically install the program on your computer. Then when you go to the file to open it, the program should allow you to open and read it. Good Luck. 1. [KYALLEN] Family Ancestral File research.
    2. Mimi Alexander
    3. Hugs to everyone ~ Mimi ----- Original Message ----- From: Mary A Kunkle<mailto:mary.kunkle@juno.com> To: kyallen@rootsweb.com<mailto:kyallen@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2008 8:33 AM Subject: [KYALLEN] Spanish language research????
