Hi everyone, Mary Elizabeth Hudson's death certificate names her father as I. J. Meador. I'm wondering if I. J. Meador was Isham J. Meador and if he was the same person who signed an affidavit found in Susan Meador's application for pension, Civil War. I would like to know if I. J. was a brother to Susan and if so, the names of their parents. Mary Elizabeth's death certificate says that she was born 29 Mar 1864. Macon County, TN and died 13 Nov 1929, Allen Co., KY. Thanks for any help. Will share. Jimmie Meadors (Researching my husband Charles' KY/TN ancestors.)
There has been a sudden change at Rootsweb.com which hosts many of the KY research sites. If you have bookmarked _www.rootsweb.com/~kyallen_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyallen) , the address will change to _www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kyallen_ (http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kyallen) by the middle of next week. TGN, the owner of both Ancestry.com and Rootsweb.com will automatically change the URL and will redirect your bookmarks - but I don't know for how long. The Allen County website will be moving from rootsweb at some point in the future, and when it does I will provide the email list with that address. I do not at this time know the affect the changes will have on the email lists. Sharon Tabor List Administrator **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money & Finance. Hi Loraine, It is Frances mother Agnes Ragland who was married twice. She firrst married Ephraim Merritt. He died and then she married Joseph Langston. in Granville Co., NC. Frances and her husband Charles Roberts, Jr went from NC to Logan Co., Ky where they died. Frances Langston that married Charles Roberts, Jr had a brother named Ragland Langston in Logan County, Ky. There are several legal records at the courthouse there that I have copies of from Russellville because the estate of Charles Roberts, Jr was not settled until 1840 due to a minor child, Langston A. Roberts dying before the will was excuted. Charles Roberts, Jr. died in Logan County, Ky in 1813. In 1812 he and Ragland Langston had land records. During the legal discourse of Charles Roberts, Jr will from 1813 - 1840 there were many depositions given and they mentioned old uncle Ragland Langston. I have copies of all of these records. Many researchers have never known that Frances and Ragland Langston were brother and sister. I hope this helps. I never researched the other kids very much. I have collected a few miscellaneous records. I can go through my data and see if I have anything on them. You and I are cousins.. LOL ! I have data going way back to the British Peerage and the Royalty of Europe on each generation. For you and me that starts with Larkin Guy's wife Fannie Waggoner daughter of : George Waggoner and Sarah Roberts..... Charles Roberts and Frances Langston... Joseph Langston and Agnes Ragland..... Stephen Ragland... Evan Ragland and Susanna Pettus... first one from Somerset County, England to New Kent Co., Va.... his parents are Thomas Ragland and Jane Morgan... this starts the British Peerage. Have you researched any of this ? I started researching and became involved in genealogy in 1982..... doing it the old way before internet. I can send you a report from my FTM if you want... this goes back to Raglan Castle.... Sandy, google and type in Raglan Castle and this is ours... biuilt in the 1430's by our grandpa Sir Willam ap Thomas. He has three sons and each is a grandfather because of the way they intermarried.. LOL ! The Raglands have written two large volumes on our line by making trips to England and Wales. They were in Glamorganshire and Monmothshire, Wales, moved to Somerset Co., England to New Kent Co., Va. Let me know please how far back you have gone. If you haven't gone back that far I will send you that report. I had to go back to my Family Tree Maker and it was the 1880 Warren County census. Their daughter who is my next grandmother is Sarah Francis "Fannie" Harris that married Robert Lewis in Warren County 4 July 1875 at Bowling Green. Her father J.W. Harris was surety. They later moved to Illinois where I live. I never knew if her parents came with them to Illinois are if they died in Warren County. This is why I have been looking for death dates.
