My ancestors, Joseph Bowyer (1777-1858) and Barbara Petree Bowyer (1782->1860), came to Adair County, Kentucky from North Carolina during the early 19th century. Researchers have determined that Joseph Bowyer is the son of Henry Boyer and Anna Catherina Soelle Boyer. Researchers have also determined that Barbara is the daughter of Johann Adam Petree and Anna Rosina Frey Boyer. Joseph was one of the founding elders of a Baptist Church at Tabernacle near Green River in Adair County. Joseph and Barbara were enumerated in the 1850 Adair County census. Joseph and Barbara's sons are William Bowyer and James Bowyer. It will be a pleasure to communicate with descendants of Joseph Bowyer and Barbara Petree Bowyer.
