Hey Joyce, i am descended from Catharine Shaw's brother Jacob (who I have nothing on) and I am interested in the Hurts also. I have a list of both those surnames, I can send it to you and you can send what you have, maybe we can help each other. Your James Allen Hurt was probably their grandson, since they were married in 1835. I do not know the names of their children, just approximate birth and death dates. Do you have that information? I knew someone had been killed by lightning but I thought it was another Hurt. I am looking for James Hurts parents and brothers and sisters and their descendants.
