I am a descendant of John Pendleton. After his wife Elizabeth's death, John married Mary Brunner Adkins, a widow. It is known that John was born in Viginia; however, I have not been able to place John in any lineage of Pendleton families in the Loudon County area of Virginia. Perhaps an error was recorded in John's 1855 Adair County, Kentucky marriage record relative to his place of birth in Virginia. The John Pendleton family was among the early 19th century residents of Adair County who settled along Green River. Does anyone have information about John's parentage? Also, what was his wife Elizabeth's maiden name and who were her parents? John, Elizabeth, and many of their children were natives of Virginia.
