In the 1840 Census of Pensioners of Revolutionary War Soldiers for Kentucky, William James, 82 years old, was living with Elijah Leech (Leach) in Adair County, KY. From the Death Records of Adair County, KY, "Pvt. William James, NC line born 30 Sept. 1758 in Southampton Co., VA, died 24 July 1842. Left widow Mary, born 25 June 1762." The Elijah Leach William was living with in 1840 was married to Mary "Polly" James, daughter of Thomas James, in 1817 in Adair County. The marriage was attested by William and John James. Possibly William, Thomas and John James were brothers. Does anyone recognize this line? Would appreciate any information. Alene
