Theresa writes: Anyone working on these lines? George W. GWINN b. 1835...son of George GWINN and Jane DAVIS Yes, Theresa, I am. My grandfather Martin GUINN was born possibly in Fentress Co.TN. The first I find him in census records is Clinton Co. KY in 1870. It is hard to read, I can't tell if he's saying he's 23 or 27. At that time he was married to "Becky", age 16. Lore from another branch of the GUINN's who knew Mart, as he was called, say that he did have a wife, Becky, "who died young." I have to get out my GUINN records to look for your George. The story from other researchers is that the line between Fentress Co. TN and Clinton Co., KY was redrawn at some point, causing the GUINN's who lived in Fentress live in Clinton, although they supposedly never moved themselves. I haven't been able to prove Martin's parents, though I think I know who they were. I think your George descended from them but have to check and see if I have them. Are you looking for his parents? Did he ever move to MO or did he live in Adair Co.? I belong to the Adair list because of a line on my Mom's side. I can send you more if this is what you're looking for. Tell me what you have and what you need. Peggy Guinn Bowen
