Notes for THOMAS FRANKLIN HURT: * Obituary - April 25, 1940 Russell County, Kentucky News Mr. T. F. Hurt who resided in the Esto community passed away at his home last Saturday afternoon after only a few days illness. He was about 87 years of age and had lived in the community where he died most of his life. He was a splendid citizen, held in high esteem by his neighbors and friends. But few people ever reach the age of Mr. Hurt. He was in good health until just a few days prior to his death. He was visiting the county seat (Jamestown) just a short time ago. Mr. Hurt was married three times, his last wife being Mrs. Nannie Riggins, widow of N. B. Riggins who passed on some years ago. He has four sons and four daughters, three sons and three daughters by his first wife and one son, Carl, by his second wife. Another good citizen has gone on leaving the example of a well spent life. Funeral services were conducted by Elder H.B. Popplewell and by Rev. MacDonald at the Mount Pleasant Church Monday.
