Hello lists, I try to put out an email once or twice a year to see if anyone else is looking for the same thing. My brick wall are my gggreatparents, John Wesley Finn and Lucitta Groves. The earliest information I have on them is from the 1850 Adair Co., KY census. Based on all the data I have collected on them John Wesley Finn was born in 1815, Jackson Co., TN (I am also thinking it could have been KY because of the dispute in the boundaries at that time), Lucitta Groves was born in 1817 in Jefferson Co., KY. They lived in Adair Co., KY until around 1870, had 7 children, and all of the family migrated to Illnois within 10 years. John and Lucitta were on the Hamilton Co., IL census in 1880 and must have died between the 1880 and 1900 census. Most of their children and descendants stayed in the Illinois area with some in Indiana, Florida, Texas and New York. John and Lucitta's children were as follows: Rosana, James Carroll (myggrandfather), b 1848 Adair Co., KY, d 1939, Hamilton Co., IL, Sarah Catherine, b 1855, Adair Co., KY, d 1941, Hamilton Co., IL, David Crockett, b 1857, Adair CO., KY, d unknown, General Zachariah Taylor, b 1859 Adair Co., KY, d 1950, Hamilton Co., IL, Margaret Elizabeth, b 1864, Adair CO., K, d unknown, John Wesley, b 1862, Adair Co., KY, d 1946, IL. I have extensive information posted on Ancestry.com. I would welcome any additional information to fill in any gaps I have.
