    2. The Neelands
    3. The following obituary appeared in the Champaign, Illinois News-Gazette on 9 Apr 2003. (I have copied this from the newspaper, and I know nothing else about any information contained within the article) "Funeral services for Lora Emma Smith, 88, of Farmer City (Ill) will be at 3p.m. Thursday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 106 N. Main St., Farmer City (Ill). Pastor Dale Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City (Ill). Visitation will be from 2 to 3p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. "Mrs. Smith died at 3:35 p.m. Monday (April 7, 2003) at ASTA Care Center of Bloomington (Ill.). She was born Aug. 24, 1914, in Adair County, Ky., a daughter of Elmer and Pearl Foley Richards. She married Marion Oris Smith Sr. on April 14, 1930 in Russell Springs, Ky. He died Oct. 2, 1984. "Survivors include a son, J.R. Smith of Normal (Ill); a brother, Lester Richards of DeLand (Ill); three sisters, Faye Mayer of LeRoy (Ill.), Leana Mae Hansen of Cincinnati (Ohio) and Lois Bryant of Warner Robins, Ga.; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, five brothers and a sister. "Mrs. Smith worked at Beich Candy Factory in Bloomington (Ill.) until she retired. She attended a Baptist church." I thought this might be of interest to someone with genealogical connections to Mrs. Smith and/or her husband.
