    3. Something that may narrow James' death a little - according to Michael Watson's ADAIR COUNTY, KY MARRIAGES, January 1, 1840 to January 1, 1870, page 6. Regarding the marriage of Mary Jane Hughes (nee Bryant) to Alfred A. Biggs, the marriage occurred 20 July 1869 by F.N. Taylor at widow Nellie Bryant's. Ergo, James had died before July 20 1869. I've gotten back as far as his grandfather: Oliver Garnet WILLIS, born May 13, 1834 in Adair (or Cumberland Co.) KY; he moved with 11 of his children and wife Martha Ann COLE to central TX about 1886. I have fairly good information on the line from then on, but have been unable to trace his ancestral line. It seems likely that he was related to William WILLIS, the Revolutionaly War soldier who moved from VA to Adair Co. to take up a land grant. Can anyone help me establish some connection here? Many thanks, Dr. David L. Willis -- dewillis@viclink.com

    2. I was glad to see that Pat found the information on Joseph Curry and Kesiah (Cussy) Judd. Ruth Burdette's books are very reliable, as far as I have been able to tell. On the other hand, I have a book by The Reseachers of Indianapolis, IN-- Adair Co Ky Marriages 1801-1850--which does not list this marriage at all, though it does have many Curry's and Judd's. I have other publications of this company, The Researchers, and in my opinion, they are sloppy and unreliable. Peggy

    2. Trying to find any information on a PAGE family that was in Adair County in the early 1900s. Several members moved to Texas with the mother, Laura Bell JANES PAGE. Need to know if there are birth records in Adair for the late 1800s, as most or all of the children were born in that late 1890s. Also is there a burial for the supposed father, Samuel Page. Names of children known are Samuel Willis Freeman, Ollie, Verney, Lula. There were one or 2 more as well who came to Texas. Ollie and Lula did not move. Any help would be welcome. Sonjahoff@aol.com
