Hi List, I just got this census info on my GG-Aunt Martha Ann RODGERS/ROGERS and her husband Curran O. HURT. Still need 1830,1840 census for all RODGERS/ROGERS trying to find out her fathers name. Her mothers name is Nancy. Plus looking for all their children. Thank You, Theresa
Hi Libby, I am looking for the name of my GGGgrandfather married to Nancy(_____). They had two children Martha Ann b.1832 and Hiram F.b.1835 Nancy remarried aprox 1837/38 to a Joseph EAST. They show up on the Adair Co. 1850 census all living in same household. I can't for the life of me find the nane of Nancy's first husband RODGERS. I've been stuck here for so long. :( In your line do you have anything that might connect? I've been posting everywhere even on surname list etc. I can't find anyone! Thank You, Theresa
Desperately seeking the name of my GGGgrandfather. He was married to Nancy (_____) They had two children that I know of names are: Martha Ann b.1832 KY and Hiram F. b.1835 KY (maybe Clinton...not sure) On the 1850 census for Adair Co,KY. Nancy and the two children above show living in the household of Joseph EAST. Was told by an EAST line that Nancy (____)RODGERS/ROGERS was a widow when Joseph EAST married her. I am trying to find out who was Nancy's first husbands name (_____)RODGERS/ROGERS. Nancy would of been born Aprox. 1807. Joseph EAST was also married before to Nancy RUSSELL she died 1835. On this 1850 census Joseph EAST and (2nd) wife Nancy RODGERS/ROGERS also had three children, together George, James, and Alexander. Since George was born aprox 1838 I figure they would of got married 1837/38 but I can't find marriage info on this second marriage. I have been on surname and state list with no new info at all. I'm hoping the county Adair list is better since everyone is looking in the same county maybe somebody has info on the local county level. I did hear that Joseph EAST was buried at a Cemetery named Cheatham in Adair Co,KY. I can't seem to find that cemetery either. have this marriage info below ............ From " The Lost Marriage Bonds of Adair Co,KY., 1840-1870" compiled by Michael C. WATSON, 1988 HURT,Curran O.,over 21,and Miss Martha Ann RODGERS,daughter of Joseph EAST, dated 20 Nov 1852, surety William Montgomery From " Adair Co,KY.,Marriages,1 Jan 1840 to 1 Jan 1870," compiled from Adair Co. Records by Michael C. WATSON HURT,Curron(sic) O.,of Adair,21,born Adair, single, to Martha Ann RODGERS, of Adair,17,born Adair, on 21 Nov 1852 by ABSHER (min.rets.only) Hiram F. married Melvary V. A. STRANGE Dec 06, 1858 in Adair Co,KY. I have been racking my brain and I can't find anyone who knows anything about my line. :( Hiram F. and Melvary/Mulivina are my GGgrandparents they left adair Co,KY. and went to ILL. then went to White Co, Arkansas by 1870 census. They had two sons that I know of Otis S. and Finis. If you have census for 1820,30 and 60 I sure could use your help. I need all the help I can get with this brickwall, I've been stuck here for so long. No info to small! Thank You, Theresa Rogers Griffiths P.O. I too would be interested in communicating with descendants of Barbara Neat Knortzer and George Knortzer. Barbara is a member of my Neat ancestral family. Barbara and George married in North Carolina before the Rudolph Neat family came to Adair County, Kentucky in the early 19th century. The Rudolph Neat family settled along Green River in Adair County and Neatsville is named in honor of Rudolph Neat. Barbara is a daughter of Rudolph Neat and Maria Margaretha Frey Neat.
