His home that was in Columbia, KY. and A historical Marker on the Courthouse lawn with members of Col. Frank Wolford's Descendants. I am interested in the Fanny Bryant portion of this. I have two Fanny Belle Bryant's listed. One was born November 19, 1888 in Adair County to Burton B. Bryant and Tyletha Ermine Abasher. I think this is probably the one (although I could be wrong!). The other Fanny Belle Bryant was born in 1906 in Guizard Arkansas to Charles Monroe Bryant and Effie Ella Redford. OOPS! I just found another Fanny listed (no middle name) born in 1842 to William Bryant and Rhoda Hardin. Which one is the one that married Wesley Willis?

    2. Hi Everyone :) I took a trip to the National Archives in DC last month and copied some Civil War Pension files, one is done, that is the one for Aden Rigney, son of George T. and Mahala Jones Rigney, grandson of Joab and Mary Anna Godbey Rigney. I've posted the file on my Maxpages website (the link is below) and there is a great deal of information. It was one of those treasures you hope to find, it listed his first wife's full name, his second wife's full name, her parents names, the names of his children along with his daughters married name. In the file was also a letter from him to the pension department telling them were he lived between 1866 and 1898! He included states, counties and cities :), pretty wonderful for my first search :) I've got more files to transcribe they include: Francis Rigney, son of Susan and William (I believe) Rigney; John F. Rigney, son of George T. and Mahala Jones Rigney; Josiah Rigney, son of George T. and Mahala Jones Rigney, Joab Rigney, Jr., son of Joab and Mary Anna Godbey Rigney; Robert Stroud's pension application, I think this is the father of Amanda Stroud Bolar Rigney-wife of John F. Rigney; Amanda's first husband William H. Bolar pension file, John F. Rigney pension file and Amanda and William's son Millard's minor file and William Bolar's pension file are all combined into John F. Rigney's pension file. Plus I have the pension file for Jacob Spaw, he was married to Amanda Rigney's sister, Eliza. I have not transcribed anyone's file except Aden's at this time, I'm working on them tho and I'll let you all know as soon as I get them done. Just thought I'd let you all know :) take care and enjoy :) ttylater Rena www.maxpages.com/generations http://OurVisualGenealogy.homestead.com/main.html http://StatesOfHeritage.homestead.com/main.html http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/r/i/g/Renamarie-Voron/ @>-^-----

Classification: Queries Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RAB.2ACI/1947.1983.1.2 Message Board Post: Ruth: I forgot to mention that I've also had contact with another of NANCY's descendants from her MOSBY children. WILLIAM (BILL) MOSEBY. As to the will, if it went to the Apr 1852 Court, it meant is was proved. As for the land that was bequeathed to NANCY and her "youngest children," it MAY have been remanded to HENRY's eldest son by SUSANNAH if NANCY could not have afforded to post bond for it...OR, if she WAS Cherokee, then she may have not have been allowed to own the land, as in some states it was illegal for Indians to own land (i.e. MO until 1924). Since HENRY's eldest son from SUSANNAH lived and died very near, if not on, the same property, it's very possible he was given the land instead. Another factor could have been that NANCY was unable to work or take care of the land with such young children and being a widow. Another thing to consider, too, is that KY was a "border state." So, she may have left with the rumors and happenings leading up to the Civil War. In any case, she was not enumerated in 1860 in KY that I have been able to find. And interesting note: One of her MOSBY children ended up in Haskell Co, I.T (OK), where MANY Cherokee families lived.

Surnames: LACY-BERRY-MOSBY Classification: Queries Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RAB.2ACI/1947.1983.1.1 Message Board Post: Ruth: I have a sneaking suspicion that NANCY went to either IL or IN and finally settled in Casey Township in Clark Co., IL. I found a WILLIAM BERRY with children born in IL living next to MARY BERRY (nee MOBSY) and MOSBY children living with her, probably the children of her brother WILLIAM, who had died. His wife had died as well, leaving minor children to go live with his sister, MARY and her husband, SILAS J. BERRY. Haven't been to connect these BERRYs, but am suspecting a relationship. NANCY, SILAS and WILLIAM were all born in KY. A couple years ago, I made contact with a MITTIE LACY TAYLOR who was descended from HENRY and SUSANNAH, but can't find her current e-mail. I made brief contact with a PAM FERNANDEZ, a descendant of HENRY and NANCY, but she, too has changed her e-mail. The only other researcher I know of for this line is my aunt in IN, V. DAVIS, who has posted her on this message board. I've been trying to confirm/deny the family legend (which is also maintained through her MOSBY childrens' descendants) that she was American Indian, probably Cherokee. I have been told her father was SAMUEL BERRY of DE, but can't find hide nor hair of him. In the 1880 Census for Clark Co., IL, she stated that her father was born in DE and her mother was born in MD.
