She is daughter of Jacob W. Banks and Rebecca Davis. She had a brother named Vandivier Banks. He came to live with her and her husband Benjamin F. Grant, b 17th April 1821 in VA. In Adair Co., KY Order Book G., page 302-303, 6 Oct., 1846 Vandiver Banks, infant son of Jacob W. Banks made choice to live with Benjamin Grant. Benjamin Grant was to teach him the trade of tanning.
