In the 1840 Census of Revolutionary War Pensioners for Adair County, William James, 82, is shown in the household of Elijah Leech (Leach). Elijah Leach married Mary "Polly" James, daughter of Thomas James, in Adair County, KY July 29, 1817. Would this William James have been her uncle? Any ideas? Thanks. Alene

Listers, This is off the subject just a tad. I am seeking information about a old settlers barn that is thought to be the oldest barn in the State of Kentucky. It is located just north of Columbia on Rocky Hill Road. I have a picture of the old barn in the historic section of a web site, if you care to take a look the URL is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mysurnames/old_settlers_barn.html I would appreciate any information on this old barn, when built, by whom, etc. Carlis --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
