Living with them is their dau. Zona and her children and their son Oscar (b.1880). This must be James Chockley and Mary Jane Mullins Chockley. My question is this: she lists that she had 12 children, 7 are living at this time (1900), does anyone know the names of those 12 children? Thanks, Lynn

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RAB.2ACI/2035.2.2.1.2 Message Board Post: I found my Mary Chockley's father. His name was Wesley but I do not know who his parents were. He first married Martha Ann and she may have been a Chockley, too, but am not sure. Then he married Eva Carroll and she was the mother of the Mary I was seeking, who was born in 1920. Wesley and first wife buried in Chockley Cemetery, McDonough Co IL but Eva is not buried there. Interesting note - I looked back on the settlement papers for Richard's wife Jane's father's estate, in 1843 and later, where their son Benjamin was an heir, and his name is spelled Chalkley on several of them. We had always known it to be Chockley and I thought it was just a mistake of the scribe, but maybe they did spell it that way. In the 1871 McDonough County atlas, in Eldorado Township, on land owned by R, B, and E Chockley it is spelled Chockley. Jean Stockham

In getting the information I have gotten conflicting information (i.e. parents of John Bryant b. 1814). I have been unable to verify with source records who his parents are. So I keep him in both families until I can prove otherwise. Nancy P. and Lucinda having the same birthdate is the same thing. You might notice that I have a "Lucina" with the birth date you gave me. Again, I have been unable to verify with source records the true dates and spelling, so I keep both. I know, I know, this will make others ask the same questions you did. But at least you asked! As for the family of John, I thought it was weird that his parents would name two living sons John. But, until I verify............
