I am descended from the first child of John Stamper Rice and Elizabeth Conwell Beck's first child Abigail Rice who married Riley Polk Phillips in Oregon. Would be glad to share the information that I have on their descendents and what I have discovered about their ancestors. I found John Stamper Rice as the son of Joseph Rice and wife Abigail in the 1850 census for Taylor County KY. I have since discovered Joseph's father and other relatives and will be glad to share with all who contact me. I know Abigail Waller's parents are John and Charlotte but have been unable to find them anywhere.

It is all I have found so far. I am descended from Marvel Calavan, Sarah Elizabeth's brother. Michael lived in Kentucky when he married Sarah.December 24, 1848 Michel and Elizabeth moved by covered wagon to Mercer Co, Mo, from Kentucky somewhere between 1849 when Marvel was born and 1850 when Marvel was born. It is quite possible I have the name spelled wrong. When I look for information on my Hagan family I have to look for Hagan, Hagen, Haggin, Hagar, Aegan, etc. Don't forget that those were also the time where if you were trying to make a fresh start you might use a new name also. My source for much of the information on their children came from another descendent of this line. If you would like to E mail me at downey@bellsouth.net I would be glad to put you in touch with her. My memory is bad today. Do you have the information on her parents? Send me your E-mail and I will send you what I have on the line from her parents down. I would love to be able to look at what you have if you don't mind. Do you have a Tree posted on the net? I have a connection with one group under the surname of Polson. They have my Young family in their Tree. I have been so confused it may be just that my mind wants to stay that way. It has been so hard locating anything I am questioning everything. One of my biggest questions on the Polson family is the spelling. Usually if a surname is spelled differnet you will still run across the other spelling some where in the Tree. On my Albert Henry Young / Henry Albert Young's death cert. (which I know can have mistakes) her last name is spelled Polston. Henry A. Young was born in 1875 in TX according to the census for Waco TX making him 5 yr at the time, matches. I was just in hopes that maybe you were my connection. It is a very unusal name and very hard to locate in Texas. I have located where Martha (who was called Jane by her family but referred to as Mrs M. J. Young on most documents) applied for confederate benefits while living in Erath Co. TX., and another individua! l has informed me that B. C. "Ben" Young may be buried in Erath Co, Lingleville, TX at the East End Cemetery. Martha is buried in the West End Cemetery in Erath Co., Stephenville, TX as Mrs. M.J. Young b)Jun 10, 1841 d)July 4, 1908. Going by the Polson information that has been shared with me Martha's parents were Thomas J. Polson & Sarah "Sally". Siblings: Nancy S., Anna E., Louise E., Sarah A.C., Mary A., John Benjamin, Susan, and Henry C. Polson. All (except Nancy which was born in KY) were born in MO, Randolph, MO. The information also shows that most of Martha's children lived, married, and died in TX (except Anna E. Polson died DeQueen, MO). Thomas J. Polson's parents show to be Rev. Benjamin Polson b) 1792 VA. d) 1873 Randolph, MO and Sarah Polson. Maybe with this addition information on the shared info I have other than Martha, you can help me. Thank you so much for your reply. I really hope that there is some kind of connection. Thank you again! Cloyce :-)

Polston. I have been searching for her as Mrs. M. J. Young until I found her name and her husband's name on one of their sons death cert. Martha J. Polston Young born in Missouri was married to Ben C. Young who was also born in Missouri. It is my understanding they had 10 children. They at some point lived in AR somewhere and had a daughter Florida. They then moved to Waco TX and are reported on the 1880 census for McLennan Co TX which shows my grandfather Henry Albert Young. His name on his death cert is shown as Albert Henry Young. He went by the name of Ab and when he was buried they had A.B. Young put on his headstone. If you have any information on Martha Polston and her family I would appreciate anything you don't mind sharing. Polston has also been found spelled Polson. Thank you so Much! Cloyce

My great grandfather was Nathan Geither Watson son of Allen Watson. Nathan had a brother Stephen who I have no info on. Nathan's mother died when he was small and the children were given away. Nathan and Johathan were raised by a familynamed Strange and Stephen was given to someone as an apprentice? (not sure of the spelling.) That is the last info I have on him. Stephen was older, don't know the age but Nathan was born in 1842. Any help would be appreciated.
