    3. I want to pause and honor my ancestor who faught for the freedom we celebrate today. Revolutionary War Soldier William Cornett who served: In 1779 for 6 months as a Private under Captain Anthony Winston and Colonel Skipps of Virginia. William also served in 1780 for 6 months as a Private under Captain Saunders and Colonel Patterson of Virginia. At the time of enlistment he was a resident of Buckingham Co., VA. He applied for a pension in 8-12-1833, when he was 71 years old in Perry Co., KY. He was born in Henrico Co., VA, and states he married in Washington Co., VA in April, 1796 to Mary Everage born in May 1770. He died 11-26-1836 in Pery Co., KY. (this information was taken from the Rev. War pension) I encourage others to post there Revolutionary War fathers so we may honer them as well!
