My James Ray family was in the 1790 census for Fayette Co KY; then Bourbon Co was formed and they were there in 1800; Nicholas Co was formed and they were listed in Nicholas Co in 1810. I doubt if they had moved, just they kept forming new counties. This James Ray was married to Margaret MORRISON. Their son Francis RAY married Deborah ERVIN in Rowan Co NC before the family moved to KY. Families the RAY daughters married into were: PIPER, CONGLETON, HINEMON, BYERS/BEYERS, and MC CUNE.
