Is this Richard Davis, the Revolutionary War Veteran? If so, he was Lincoln County, Kentucky.... present day: Harlan, Knox, Bell (etc...)counties... I'm not sure.... my BRANSON line begins with Leonard Branson, born 1770. His sons (that I know of) are Hezekiah born 1792, Maryland and Henry born 1795, Maryland. Both Henry and Hezekiah migrated to (present day) Harlan County, Kentucky and had HUGE families...the name John Branson repeats quite a bit ....but then again, JOHN is the MOST COMMON given name.... I have: Sarah Branson b.June 1843, daughter of Hezekiah Sarah Branson b. 1865, daughter of Chandler Unless I missed one, I guess the answer is no...sorry! Toni
Looking for info of my ggg gf Richard (Dickey) Davis. Some say he came from VA. We know he was in KY by 1807 because he married Patty Dunbar of Antrim, Ireland in that year. Evidently soon afterwards they moved to adjoining Caldwell Co for their first son was born there in 1808. Here is my dilemma. Records show Richard's birthdate as 1737 or 1747, died 1829. That would have made him either 70 or 60 years old when he married. There is another Richard Davis who lived across the Tradewater River in adjoining Hopkins County. Could the birthdates we have for my Richard actually belong to the one across the river. We don't have birthdates on the Hopkins County Richard but do know that he was called Old Richard. There are land records of transactions between the two Richards but the younger Richard was not in the will of the older one. Could this be son and father? Does anyone know of this family? Any information would be appreciated and I will gladly share what I have with you. No Isaac or Allen Jennings in Harlan County 1830 - 1850... If everyone would check for these names for Jean, we can eliminate where Mr. Jennings WASN'T.....and perhaps assist that way! Also, I have an idea (uh-oh!)... We MAY be missing information by only asking for a few surnames at a time... Rather, why don't we make a list of our grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents, etc..and just list ALL the names at one time ~ I asked for the names I was stuck on ~ I didn't include any of the lines I'm not presently "working" and if we ALL did that, perhaps we missed a bit.... I can share a quite a bit on HAMBLIN, GREEN, BRANSON, etc... and there are more "remote" names that I haven't considered researching, yet.... Let me know your thoughts....I have my list ready... My James Ray family was in the 1790 census for Fayette Co KY; then Bourbon Co was formed and they were there in 1800; Nicholas Co was formed and they were listed in Nicholas Co in 1810. I doubt if they had moved, just they kept forming new counties. This James Ray was married to Margaret MORRISON. Their son Francis RAY married Deborah ERVIN in Rowan Co NC before the family moved to KY. Families the RAY daughters married into were: PIPER, CONGLETON, HINEMON, BYERS/BEYERS, and MC CUNE. Any help appreciated. Marian

Hiram WOODWORTH b. 1802 in Pa. married Polly (Mary) Glenn b. 1801 in Campbell Co., Ky. They were probably married by 1825. They had several children in Ky., before moving to Illinois. I am searching for any info on either of these families. Thanks in advance. Mary masdal@ala.net
Dear Rachel, I saved your letter & just now getting to reply. I have Sizemores in my line also. I'll give you who I have & I don't know how accurate they are. I've heard that there is a lot of mis-information out about them. Anyway, here is my line. Edward Sizemore m. LouAnna Bowling. They had Nancy Sizemore m. David Jones. They had Mary Ann Jones m. William Franklin Yeager. They had David Anderson Yeager m. Sarah Elizabeth George. They had my Dad, Joseph Young Yeager m. Ollie Bell Noland. My Mom's Mom was a SPARKS. I noticed you had SPARKS also. I haven't done much searching on them at all. I do know they came from the Sparta, Tn. area. If any of them sound familiar, would like to hear from you. Thanks, Guilda Yeager Teague
1870 LOW ELIZABETH Union County KY 276 Caseyville Pct. Federal Population Schedule KY 1870 Federal Census Does anyone have this census record? Can you tell my anything further about this or any Elizabeth Low that would be old enough to marry and have a child in 1880.
