Frederick Melville Shelton's father (John Marshall Mosby Shelton) was born in 1820. I don't have Fredericks DOB. 1. William Shelton 1676-1734 m. Hannah Armistead 2. Samuel Shelton 1703-1793 m. Elizabeth Clough Anderson 3. Joseph M. Shelton m. Mary Harris 4. John Marshall Shelton b. abt. 1800-1822 m. Ann Harrison Mosby 5. John Marshall Mosby Shelton b. 1820 m. Mary H. Diggs 6. Frederick Melville Shelton (this is where my info ends) Sorry I don't have more. If you need any other Shelton info just let me know. Karen in CA
Karen......... The Frederick of my search is listed on the death certificate of William Hayden Shelton, b. 1839 Owen Co.,died 1921, as the father of William Hayden. This is how I got the Frederick for whom I am searching. The Owen Co census 1840 lists a Frederick Shelton age 20-30, with a female the same age, and two young males, one at age 5-10, and one at u5. The under5 would be William Hayden. I cannot find the name of the 5-10 year old........it might be James as a James served in the Civil War with William Hayden, and witnessed his pension application. Frederick disappears from the tax lists of Owen Co. in c. 1846. William Hayden Shelton is then living in the Samuel Hunt household in 1850. William Hayden S. has his first child in 1867, named Elzy Thomas, his dau. Nannie Belle b. 1884 m. Robert B. Knox, and their Daughter Mabel is my husband's Mother. What is the age of the Frederick Melville to whom you refer..........and is he is Owen Co? Do you have a father for John Marshall Mosby Shelton? Are they part of the VA Sheltons of Pittsylvania Co. I would be eternally grateful for any info to help solve Frederick. Phyllis, Cincinnati ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
