I hope this helps you. :) Susie John Rose, Sr. was born abt. 1740, place unknown, later lived in Burke Co., NC. Date of death and marriage are unknown. Married Mary ??, dates for here birth and death are unknown. Children: John Rose, Jr.*; Isaiah Rose, Levi Rose John Rose, Jr. was born in 1770 in Burke Co., NC and died in May 1850 in Russell Co., VA. The 1850 Russell County, VA Federal Mortality Schedule notes he died at the age of 80 from gravel--which means he died from Kidney stones. He is buried in Dickenson Co., Va on Caney Ridge in Vance Cemetary. (*Note: This part of Dickenson Co. VA was Russell Co., VA until 1880.) Married Mary Stafford, born abt. 1767, place unknown. Date of was abt. 1785, and date of her is death unknown. Children: Rebecca Rose (Green), born 1792 in NC, married John Green--listed in 1850 Russell Co., VA Census, Family #435, occupation: wheelwright Elias John Rose, born 1796 in NC; married Nancy Hill in 1816. She was born abt. 1800 in NC and died abt. 1873. Her father was Swinfield Hill, born bet. 1770/1780, in Burke Co., NC. Samuel Rose, born in 1804 in NC; married Margaret Cantrell. Listed in 1850 Census for Russell Co., VA-Family #437 Wilson Rose*, born in 1807 in Burke Co., NC and died in 1889 in Dickenson Co., VA. He married Virginia "Jennie" Jane Vance bet. 1825-1827 in NC. She was born abt. 1808 in TN and died bet. 1860-1864 in Wise Co., VA. She is listed on the Wise Co., VA Census for 1860, but on 10 JAN 1865, Wilson Rose married his second wife, Bethany Mullins. Virginia Vance's father was Samuel Vance. Her mother was Cherokee and her name is unknown. (Some sources say she was called "Morning Star"). Virginia's brother was David Vance. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Rose, daughter of Wilson's brother, Elias Rose. *NOTES: Wilson Rose was said to be a Baptist minister. He is buried on Cooper Ridge near Caney Creek in Dickenson Co. Children of Wilson and Virginia "Jennie" Vance Rose are: John "Buck John" Rose, born abt. 1829. Married Caroline Salyer. He was killed during the Civil War in the Cranesnest Battle in Dickenson Co., VA. Robert "Robin" Vance Rose, born May 1, 1829 in Burke Co., NC; died May 29, 1897 in VA. Married Elizabeth Powers in 1852. He is buried in Wright Cemetary in Letcher Co., KY. They are Family # 312 in the 1860 Wise Co., VA Census. Mary "Polly" Rose, born 1832 in NC. Margaret Ann Rose, born 1837 in NC, married Alfred Stanley on June 24, 1873 in Wise Co., VA Sarah Rose, born 1837 in NC (Twin to Margaret?), married Absolom Hampton on February 4, 1863 in Wise Co., VA. Rebecca Rose, born 1838 in Russell Co., VA, married Joseph B. Stanley on March 13, 1857 in Wise Co., VA. Elizabeth Rose, born 1841 in Russell Co., VA, married George W. Rhoten on January 24, 1861 in Wise Co., VA. Wilson Rose, Jr.--"Little Wilse", born 1844. Jane "Jennie" Rose*, born July 15, 1847 in Russell Co., VA, died September 15, 1901 in Johnson Co., KY; buried in Caudill Cemetary.     3. I want to pause and honor my ancestor who faught for the freedom we celebrate today. Revolutionary War Soldier William Cornett who served: In 1779 for 6 months as a Private under Captain Anthony Winston and Colonel Skipps of Virginia. William also served in 1780 for 6 months as a Private under Captain Saunders and Colonel Patterson of Virginia. At the time of enlistment he was a resident of Buckingham Co., VA. He applied for a pension in 8-12-1833, when he was 71 years old in Perry Co., KY. He was born in Henrico Co., VA, and states he married in Washington Co., VA in April, 1796 to Mary Everage born in May 1770. He died 11-26-1836 in Pery Co., KY. (this information was taken from the Rev. War pension) I encourage others to post there Revolutionary War fathers so we may honer them as well!
