    2. HI My name is Rudi. I have Kentucky roots with the names of:Bugg,Riddle,Rowland,Evans. I would like to find some information on the Evnas line right now from SW KY. I had a great grandmother with the name of Evans that married Richard Bugg and a great great grandmother also named Evans that married Jesse Bugg. Seemed funny that both the father and the son married women with the last name of Evans. Thank you, Rudi

    3. I'm looking for info on my ggf, John Ray. He was married to Elizabeth (Ellen?) Jane Arnold. They lived in Hickman County, Ky. She died in 1882, is buried in Columbus, Ky. Cemetery. John is not buried beside her. They had 5 or 6 children. The youngest, Columbus Worth Ray was only about 2 years old when she died. I only knew him and my grandfather, Robert Luther Ray, born 1976. My theory is that John remarried. Any help out there? 3. JANE F. GREER, MARTHA GREER, W.E. GREER, WILL ROB GREER, ALLENE GREER. 1840’S TN or KY or MO Seeking information on the parents/family of JANE F. GREER b 1854. Also seeking to know the date/place of her marriage & where she is buried. The earliest record I have regarding my great-grandmother, JANE F. GREER, is the 1870 Obion County TN Census. She was 16. Her mother, MARTHA, age 35 is listed as the head of household, and William age 18 is listed as son. All are documented as born in TN. W.E. GREER, witnessed a Brownlow family Last Will & Testament. The Will, dated April 03, 1882, OBION COUNTY TN, was witnessed by E.H. TAIDALE, W.E.GREER, THOMAS L. MOSLEY, and H.T.FULLERTON, MD. A younger relative was ALLENE GREER. We found a photo of an infant with “ALLENE GREER” written on back. No dates. Another younger relative was WILL ROB GREER. We found a photo made in LEWISBURG TN of a boy about a year old. Probably pre-1890. Family legend is that Jane died after 1885 and before 1890 . About 1890 Hugh Cook Brownlow migrated to TX. Jane’s mother, Martha, also came to Texas with Hugh and the 4 children. The children of JANE F. GREER and HUGH COOK BROWNLOW were: Nettie Lorraine Brownlow, Fanny Brownlow, Henry Frank Brownlow and Mattie Francis Brownlow. All born in TN before 1890. Thank you for taking time to read and respond if you have a link. Mr. Leland Carter PO Box 162 Fruitvale, TX 75127 Van Zandt CountyTexas

    1. [KY-ROLLCALL] From List Mom - 2nd Quarterly Report - 2002
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, Here it is the first of July and I am late in sending you the Second Quarterly Report. I was in Maryland and Delaware enjoying three of my children their spouses and five of my grandchildren for the 4th of July. Due to the lateness of this report I am not going to send the individual numbers of members for each of the lists I take care of. It is an all day job. If any of you really want to know how many are on your list, just e-mail me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net and ask. Be sure and let me know what list you are asking about. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller’s Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. Please send this request to KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net not to the entire list. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search and from there you can search by dates. There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. When sending a posting to the list it would help if you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line. Doing this also might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. Many members are on many many lists and when they see a subject line that reads "My Ancestors" they just delete it. 2. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as, the first message from a member says "Happy Birthday Mary" and then Mary says "Thank you” and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Mary". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. I know there are exceptions to most rules including this one. If you have a doubt ask me. KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. 6. Now the hardest thing is when one of our own, a fellow member becomes upset about a posting, something I have done or not done. It is so hard not to jump in and add our two cents. I want you to know how much I appreciate it when you just let these posting go by and delete them. Know that I am behind the scenes taking care of the problem. If you ever have a concern that I might have missed a message that needs addressed you are welcome to contact me during the day at Kathleen.burnett@era.com or in the evenings at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. It is your list and is here for your benefit. If you have suggestions or comments you would like in future reports, you only need to send them to me. 2. Give me some dates, and I can look up in the 1870 census index for KY, and anywhere in the 1880 one, I have birth records for KY for 1911-1999. There are many John Tate's in KY in the 1880 census, so an approximate date would be really good, and a Color sometimes help, or if you know where they were born, something.
