I have a Thomas Righthouse born ca 1767 in Woodford County, KY and married 1792. But, this birth location states before KY was a state. Thomas married Margaret "Peggy" Righthouse and she was married at some time to David Stucker and Abraham Varble. Her birth is noted as KY. Children I have listed are Elizabeth "Betsie" b 1801; Leonard b 1810; Margaret b 1810; Sarah H. b 1832; John and George. These birthdates appear to be quite a distant apart, not impossible, but confusing. I believe all children were born in Jefferson County, IN or KY possibly. Very confusing family. Any help will be appreciated. Jeannie Noe Carlisle
Does anyone have any information on a William Smith that was stationed at Fort Knox Ky during world war 2?I am looking for the Smith line that married into the Roden line in Louisville KY.? Smith married Marveline Roden around the 1940 era.She is the aunt to my nephew.I know most of the Roden that connect but not the Smith line they married into.
Well it appears to be roll call time again so here goes my plea for my gr grandfather Smith R Turner info. According to census records and military records: He was b. Dec 1824 in Ky. His parents (unknown) b. in VA. He served 13 months with the Missouri Volunteers during the Mexican war, joining them in Springfield, Mo. so I am assuming he must have moved to Mo. at some point in time before then. According to his military card sent to me by the Mo Archives he stayed in Az. at the end of his service but I find no evidence of him there until 1873 when he married 1st Seferina Lamadrid she died one day after they were married. He then purchased land in Az in April of 1874 and married my gr grandmother Lucinda Ramirez that same year. I can follow him from that point on until his death in the Old Soldiers Home in Los Angeles in 1902 and he is buried at the Los Angeles Memorial Cemetery which was located directly behind the Old Soldiers Home when it was still there. What I am trying to do is locate him prior to to 1873 with the exception of the 13 months in the Mexican War. I did find a Smith R Turner that served with the 6th Ark Infantry Co. D, Confederate Army during the Civil War. I am trying to get info regarding that person to see if he is my gr grandfather. I can't seem to tie him to any of the Smith Turners I have found so far from either, Ky or Mo. So far one possibility is Smith Turner and Nancy Ragsdale m. 1804 as being possible parents but there is little concrete info on them including their children. So if anyone happens to run across a stray Smith Turner in these areas I would appreciate hearing from you. Trying to find him on some record between 1830-1870 and anyplace is a possibility even though he was b. in KY. He seemed to be a traveler. He was a prominent rancher as well as a Sheriff in AZ. His middle name is probably Robert as it was said to be "Ribert" on his son Smith R. Turner's death certificate and it is a family name. My grandfather was Robert Ramirez Turner and my father was Robert Smith Turner. One of these days I hope that all of you having to look at these same old facts all the time will pan out, I know it must get boring having to read the same thing over and over. Thanks, Roberta Turner Capello (Bobbi) Hey I was a girl they couldn't name me Robert. :-)

Hello, I am looking for info about this family: According to 1880 Jefferson County Indiana census for Madison Township, Goerge Phillips was born in Penn. 1842 with parents born in Germany. His wife is listed as Jane (Hulley )sp? born in 1847 in Ky. with parents born in Eng. Their first five sons were born in Ky.: Robert 1868, Benjamin 1870, Edward 1872, Thomas 1873, and Millitius 1875. Their youngest children were born in Indiana: Bost (sp?) and Otts(sp?) 1879. I do not know which county in Ky. they lived in and I have been unable to find a marriage record for them or any record at all for Jane Hulley. I would appreciate any help. Thank you, Rhonda Walker
