At this place there has been two feet of water in many of the business houses and residences, and the damage in this immediate vicinity is estimated to be at least $100,000. The wheat crop in western Kentucky has been ruined. Several deaths from lightning have been reported. James BRATTON, of Mason county, was killed in the field while hoeing tobacco. Mrs. John JEFFRIES of Erie, Ky., was instantly killed on her porch by a bolt of lightning.
