Article Text: Elizabethtown, Ky., July 19.--Your correspondent has just learned the particulars of a homicide which occurred in Grayson County, about twenty-five miles from here, some days since, in which a man named KIZER brained another named OVERTON with a hoe. Both men were farmers of high respectability, and both members of the church, but of different denominations. It seems that KIZER had some stock that was in the habit of getting into OVERTON's fields. On the day in question, OVERTON found KIZER's cattle in his field and drove them out, after doing so he went to the house and prepared to go over to KIZER's and have a talk with him on the subject. In order to carry conviction with his argument, he put a pistol in his pocket. Finding KIZER in a corn-field hoeing corn, he went to him and began his complaint. In the altercation which ensued OVERTON attempted to draw his pistol from his pocket, but before he could do so KIZER attacked him with the hoe and killed him on the spot.! The men were neighbors, and, as far as ascertained, had been on amicable terms until KIZER's stock began their depredations in OVERTON's crops.
