Husband Tries to Take Life After Wife's Death. Article Text: Discharging a pistol as she fell down a flight of stairs, Mrs. B. P. RAGSDALE, of Catlettsburg, today wounded herself fatally and 10 minutes later her husband attempted to take his life. "If she's gone, I might as well go too," was RAGSDALE's only comment as he tried to kill himself. A double tragedy was prevented by Ray WELLMAN, a neighbor, who wrested a gun from RAGSDALE, interfering with RAGSDALE's attempt to send a bullet through his brain after he had shot himself in his leg. RAGSDALE is a former major league ball player. He came to Catlettsburg from Texas.
