She bore him three sons; John H, George W., and Thomas J. I believe she died in 1873, giving birth to Thomas J. John then brought Mary Kirby to live with the family, and though they were never married, she bore him four children. One of those children was my grandfather, Richard G. Mitchell. There is no record of those last four births. So, I am not directly related to the Higginbothams. Just thought I'd include the name to see if any of them have a record of my Mitchell family. John and Mary were first cousins. He must have loved her a great deal. He never married my great grandmother, Mary Kirby, and when he died in 1900 he was buried next to Mary in the Higginbotham cemetery. Thanks for the response. Hope you are having a wonderful day.
