Hello All, This is being sent to you in case you haven't already heard about it before. I have just uncovered information that asks Kentuckians (or, I guess even people from out of the state of Kentucky) to let Kentucky's Task Force on Cemetery Preservation (Office of the Kentucky Attorney General) know about the location of Cemeteries which can allow the state of Kentucky provide proper aid, etc. The 38 member Task Force on Cemetery Preservation was formed by order of Gov. Patton sometime earlier this year. This sounds like a way to apply for aid to many of the historic & abandoned cemeteries throughout Kentucky. I know I have heard many persons on many of these mailing lists express concerns about the condition & care of old abandoned cemeteries here in Kentucky. There is a more detailed explanation at the following website (all or most questions you have can be answered when you visit this website): www.kyattorneygeneral.com/cemetery Time is short. From the above website, you can download a form to be filled out (or the form is also said to be available at the county judge's offices throughout Kentucky). IMPORTANT--This form must be filled out & submitted no later than August 15, 2001. So, if you have a cemetery (or cemeteries) within Kentucky that you are interested in having the State of Kentucky providing aid to, this form can filled out by any interested person & mailed as instructed (especially historic cemeteries that are overgrown, abandoned, and neglected). Hope this interests all of you. John Vice
