    3. Thanks to everyone with their replies--what seemed to have happened in my case is that the graves were just moved to the front of the graveyard. Mind you that this is in the Oldham Co. area where much development is happening so I would figure this is the reason why this happened, and apparently it is an abandoned and closed cemetery on private land, so whatever happened, I am sure that whoever moved them went through the proper procedures. Michael I would imagine who moved the graves would have a lot to do with it. If direct descendants moved them would be one matter, if I came and moved them or a developer moved them it would be another matter. May I add, the law does not stop anyone from doing anything, it only gives the right to sue or have the person arrested. It is a good question, does one have to get permission from Kentucky to move a grave - no matter who does it?
