Jacqueline: Perhaps this will give you an area to search in Daviess Co. This is from the FAMILY HISTORY RESOURCE FILE 1880 Census. Note that Amanda is a widow and her youngest son was 6y and also born in IL, so she was still there in 1873-4. The oldest son listed is 11y, so they should be found in IL in 1870. I hope this helps.
