I don't know about Western State Hospital but, Eastern State Hospital in Lexington, KY has the patients that were admitted there and died buried on the property. Could this be the one you are talking about? My grandfather searched all his life for his brother that died in 1919 and never knew where in Lexington he was buried. I called the hospital since he knew he died in a mental hospital. After searching their files they told me the date he was admitted the time he died and the part that took me by surprise was they said the other patients were the ones that dug the graves and buried him. They moved the graves back in the 80s to add on to the hospital and now all the graves are unmarked and they just have one headstone placed at the entrance in memory of all of them buried there. I can send you a photo of it if you like. Terry Thacker Join Now! Subscribe: EASTERNKENTUCKY-L-request@rootsweb.com Join Now! Subscribe: KYHeritageFolklore-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Join Now!
