Townships are an Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania thing and maybe some other states. But, there are no townships in Kentucky. They use the metes and bounds surveying system. I am a transplanted Buckeye and I was also confused by the lack of townships until explained to me by the Judge County Executive.
