There's a complete listing of all known burials at Ft. Knox available in the Hardin Co. archives. The page is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ky/hardin/hardin.html -scroll down to the cemeteries section and you'll find links to the files (there are 4 of them). You can check for information from them yourself. From a recent inquiry I made for someone else, if you do find someone that you're looking for listed, more information can be obtained from Richard Helmkamp, the Ft. Knox archealogist. Some cemeteries are open at all times for visitation - the ones in the "middle" of post where public traffic and access is always open. Some are in restricted areas (training areas, etc.) that they try to make access available on Memorial Day weekend, and some are totally restricted due to dangers of their locations (ranges where live ammunition might be present). My understanding is that they've hired a company to photograph all the tombstones, but they haven't received any so I don't know what exactly will be available or when. Richard should have more information. I know that my late father-in-law helped buying land when some of the graves from Fort Knox were moved but I don't know from where. This is at Mt. Eden Cemetery on Hwy. # 44 in Bullitt Co., KY. You could try to search Bullitt Co. for some graves since in borders on Ft. Knox military lines, that are West of Shepherdsville, KY. Also, some Cemeteries are still on Ft. Knox land, but as far as I know you can't access them. I am trying to locate info on Rev. Henry B. Goodwin,my g g g grandfather. He seems to have either died or left Lawrence county Ky between 1847 and 1850 any info appreciated thanks mary Rev Henry B Goodwin was a circuit rider and is mentioned in this article about the Methodist Gallup Circuit Riders. He was listed in the Circuit of Gallup and Borders area, this was in the late 1830's and early 1840's . the Gallup and Borders Circuit included the areas of Busseyville, Dry Ridge or Walnut Gap, Moores Chapel, Richardson, Borders Chapel and Gallup. Henry was apparently a carpenter also. There is a court case, dated Nov. 4, 1845, where he places a claim against the estate of Richard Brown. Henry apparently had made sashes for the windows in Brown's house and installed 82 feet of picture railing. For all this Henry wanted $86.

I will try to address some here. As far as the name and location; Grandview Cemetery in Brekenridge Co. Also origenally known as the Kasey Family Cemetery It is very far from the city so it doesn't fall under E-towns jurisdiction. The KY State Police patrol the area as they can. I was co-founder of the paranormal research group Kentucky Society for Ghost Research and the indevidual that coordinated a volunteer clean up at the cemetery a few years back. We logged all readable inscriptions and posted them on findagrave.com as well as contacting the county archives to compare listings. We are also in contact with some of the decendants of the Kasey family burried there and have made several follow up visits to fix broken headstones. Durring the clean up we included media such as WAVE 3 news, FOX 41 news and the Courier Journal to help spread the word of the cemeteries plight and others like it. As far as "satanic" rites being preformed there have been several groups seen out there but from what I've been told the cerimonies are not done as they were supposed to be and it apears that the violators are just wanna-bes or kids out for a thrill. When ever we go out there we first contact the State Police to let them know we will be in the area, and we log license plates of anyone that arives and turn it in to the State Police for future reference. I know it's not much but it is a start. Some of the "neighbors" though few and far between in the rural area occasionally patrol as well. I am not related to those buried there but I treat it as if I were. This is what I would hope someone would do for my ancestors. I have just started a yahoo group for the purpose of saving this cemetery. I would like to invite all of you to join the efforts. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GrandviewCemetery I will be contacting the Kaseys and inviting them to join as well. Thanks, John Amerine

Kentucky: A History of the State, Perrin, Battle, Kniffin, 4th ed., 1887, Marion County GEORGE A. BRICKEN, dealer in grain, seeds and implements, Lebanon, was born in Marion County May 16, 1841. His father, William M. Bricken, was born in Washington County in 1817. He married Miss Ellen Cunningham and two sons blessed this union, George A. and Samuel B. Ellen (Cunningham) Bricken is yet living, aged sixty-three years. She is a daughter of Robert and Nancy (Beale) Cunningham, who were of Scotch parentage and natives of Maryland and came to Kentucky in 1796, and located near the site of the present city of Lebanon. Wm. M. Bricken was, during life, engaged chiefly in the grocery trade in connection with farming. He was the first assessor of property elected in the town of Lebanon; he died in 1865. He was a son of Wm. G. Bricken, a native of Virginia born near Richmond, where he grew to manhood and married a Miss Hardwick; afterward (in 1797) he came to Kentucky and settled in Washington County, where he purchased land and engaged in farming, which vocation he followed until his death; he reared a family of three sons and five daughters, among whom was Wm. M., the youngest, and father of our subject. They have been a remarkably long-lived family, two sons and one daughter having died upward of eighty years of age each. Those living are Mrs. E. R. Terrell, Mrs. Martha Johnson, Alexander, Mrs. Maria Spraggins, and Mrs. Mahala Wilkinson. George A. Bricken was reared on a farm and educated in the common schools, finishing at the Lebanon Institute under the tuition of W.T. Knott. In 1859 he engaged in the trade with his father in the grocery business, and afterward in the shoe trade until 1870, when he engaged in agricultural pursuits on a farm of 150 acres, that he owned. In 1881 he connected with his farming operations the trade in seeds, grain and farming implements in the town of Lebanon. June 11, 1867, he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth V. Johnson. Three sons and two daughters have blessed this union: Wm. M., Felix J., Rosella, Blanche, and George A. Mrs. Elizabeth Bricken was born in 1846. She is a daughter of Felix and Rosetta (Medley) Johnson; both were native Kentuckians of Irish descent, and residents of Washington County. Mrs. Bricken is a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Bricken is not a member of the church but is a patron of church and school. His political views are Democratic.
