I think a good co.dealing in this type of work could change the O to a Q with out a big problem.I think all they would haft to do would cut the remaining part of the Q on the bottom of the O,Might not look 100% but i think it could be done. --- patriciamorano@bellsouth.net wrote: > First, can you find out who the gentleman is put the replacement headstone > in? First, can you find out who the gentleman is put the replacement headstone in? Is it possible that the picture just makes it look like an O instead of a Q? I have not seen a picture of the marker but is it brass or stone? Brass markers cost anywhere from $600 to $750 to have made plus you have to pay a small fee to have them installed, depending on the city and cemetery. Stones cost much more. I know. I had to pay for a marker to be put on my mother's grave about 3 years ago. The simplest thing, I would think would be to go to the sextant of the cemetery or write and have a correction put in the cemetery records or a notation. Off the top of my head, I'm guessing you'd probably just have to buy a replacement stone. Deborah
I recently came across a website that provided pictures of the markers in Switzer Cemetery, located beside the North Fork Baptist Church in Franklin County. (The address is http://letsbehappy.net/David's%20GENEALOGY/switzercem1_files/switzercem.htm) I noticed that my g-g-grandfather's name is misspelled - they have a middle initial of O, but it should be Q. I have all the documentation to support the fact that it should be Q. The marker has obviously been replaced, given its condition and the date of death 1903. According to the gentleman who maintains the website, someone by the name of Clyde Hart probably was the one responsible for replacing it, using his own money during the 1970s. So my question is... How can I go about having the marker corrected? Can I simply contact a local monument company and have them do it? If so, could anyone recommend a trustworthy company? I live too far away to investigate myself. Thank you, Kevin Arnold http://arnold-history.org

I was surfing the KyGenWeb site. I know I saw a slew of Kelsays earlier today. But I can't find the particular part of the site I saw it in. I was all over that site too. Thought it was in the taxes part. But here's the general site http://www.rootsweb.com/~kycampbe/ Carol On Feb 15, 2005, at 6:41 PM, aprillablackee@aol.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Kelsay, Purl, Sidebottom, Estes,Mcginnis > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wS.2ADIAE/388 > > Message Board Post: > > Hello I was woundering if anyone know where any Kelsay's are buried. > This would be off the JOHN and Margaret Kelsay line.
