    2. Sorry about the last two attempts, cat walking across keyboard). I have been driving by the Eastern (Old Chestnut Grove) Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN at the corner of 8th Street and Graham, and I am amazed at the improvement. Has someone new taken over the maintenance? The grass is cut nicely, and it is all trimmed around the stones. This is the best that it has looked in years. Someone has taken charge. Thank goodness. 2. 28 JUNE 2001 Hello all... Not that I am sticking up for the government, but the volumn of mail that they must get is a factor...then these applications are on microfilm, so there is the cost of several microfilm readers, plus the the toner for the machines, maintenance contracts, and repairs...plus the many clerks to handle the volumn, plus their benefits, and then there is the buildings, desks, chairs, mats, paper, envelopes, and postage, etc... So I can see with their costs how it could go up...but yes I think $27 is quite high, but when you consider how long it takes them to raise the price, perhaps we just lucked out for all this time...LINDA

    3. Hi, I am trying to locate descendants of Jack Logan, W. C. Logan, or any Allen County, KY Logans. This is my ancestral line. We were at the Old Union cemetery and there were flowers on the graves of Jackson B. Logan, Rebecca (Lamb) Logan, and the graves of their children. (Logans, of course.) A daughter, Mary Sidney Logan Goodrum and her husband, Wesley Logan are also buried there, but I didn't notice whether or not flowers were on those graves. Any Idea who put the flowers there? Must be some relative, surely. Jack and Rebecca were my great grandparents. Sue Pearson Carpenter

    3. The best place I have found to go for locating cemeteries is: http://www-nmd.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html If the cem is named it will show up - follow the directions on the query page. You may have to ZOOM IN to find them - the first page gives you lat & long for the place you are looking for - WRITE it down - I have gotten pretty good at this - but be patient and explore what the site does - I even found a "cemetery" with ony two graves! 3. You can drive to the church by taking Hwy 421 north from Manchester, left at Burning Springs on Hwy 472 for about one mile. You can also find some cemetery information at www.rootsweb.com and going to Kentucky and Clay County in the counties selection. Then when you get there you can search the links listed. The Clay County Historical Society is a good place to look. There is a listing for some cemeteries on the index. Coleman England Burnside, KY
