Hi, I'm looking for a Cumberland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in either Knox or Laurel counties. I am also looking for information on a Brafford Cemetery located someplace in Knox County. Thanks, John
Hi John, For questions like this, go to the USGS national mapping query site. http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form The form lets you put in variables like "cemetery" or watercourse, state & county, & then gives you a location. Very handy. Hi, I am trying to find the location of a Cemetery. I saw a listing in "Clay County Kentucky, History & Families" where my My GGG Uncle Frances Marion Muncy was buried at Pine Grove, Sexton's Creek in Clay County. My question is if there is a Pine Grove Cemetery on Sextons Creek....or if he was just simply buried in a grove of pines on Sexton Creek???? I would appreciate any information on this Pine Grove Cemetery, if it exists. John

You could check land deeds in the courthouse to see where they owned property, there may be city or county directory for those early years. Check the library there and they may have one on microfilm. Sue ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, July 16, 2001 8:25 AM Subject: [KY-CEM] Question on finding a grave > I am wondering if any one in KY (or else where) might know the answer to this. I know that my great great grandfather died in Caseyville Ky while visiting with family there. My grandfather figures they he was burried at "home". I found them in the 1900 census and was wondering if there was a way to find out either from the census or other records where this propery might be. He died about 1902 (this is guestimated from the age my grandfather thinks he was when he died, but he was not born yet and is not 100% sure). This is before they were requried to record records and there does not seem to be one. Any help would be appreciated. > > Thanks, Liesa > > > ==== KY-CEMETERIES Mailing List ==== > NOTICE: Posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political > announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, > etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. > Consideration for exceptions, contact Kathleen Burnett [email protected] > To learn more about my world visit http://dwp.bigplanet.com/kburnett > > ============================== > Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 > Source for Family History Online.
