Surnames: Smith, Logsdon Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wS.2ADIAE/27.1.1 Message Board Post: I posted this under Josie Glidden's name on accident. We live in the same house. The person I am looking for is my g grandmother Ester M. Smith. She married James Zachary Logsdon and after my grandfather was born she died. She was born in Barren County 1883-84 and died in Hart county 1900-01. I have been unable to locate any info about her other then the 1900 census in Hart county (supervisor district 4, enumeration 56, sheet 61, house 113-113). Her sister Arthula Smith was living next door to Ester and James in 1900 at William Logsdon's house 116-116. She was born 1886-87. My grandfather also said her parents were William and Delia and they came from Carol Hill or Coral Hill. I found a Delia Smith on the 1900 Barren county census (district 4, supervisors district 3, enumeration district 18, sheet number 11, house 204-204) living with a son McHenry born 1889. Next door is Arthula Smith (probably Delia's father) in house 203-203. Next door again is George Smith with wife and children including Arthula age 13. Could the same Arthula be counted twice? In two different neighboring counties? Well anyway I hope you can help in some way. I am grasping for any tidbit of info. Thank you for the offer. [email protected]

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wS.2ADIAE/34.1.3.1 Message Board Post: Hi Shirley; IThank you for replying to my inquiry re Robinson Cemetery. I know there is a wealth of information in and around Jessamine, Woodford, Fayette on the Robinsons. They were some of the earliest Kentucky settlers from Va. So far, in my research, I have tried to stick to direct ancestors. Although I have information on many brothers and sisters. It was my original goal to try to get the line back to England, but I just got stuck trying to place dear old Benjamin Robinson, whose birthplace was Spotsylvania, VA. I haven't given up trying as I know there is a key somewhere. If you have any Robinson information earlier than 1800, I would very much like to learn of it. Mainly on Benjamin Robinson who married Mildred Ellis in Spotsylvania, VA and then they both went to Jessamine, KY. Thanks again for your reply. Have a Happy New Year for 2002. Marilyn

    1. [KY-CEM] From List Mom - 4th Quarterly Report 2001
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members: The Holiday Season is over and I am back home again. I want to thank each of you for helping to keep our list running smoothly while I was spending Christmas with three of my children and their families in Delaware and Maryland. I had a wonderful time but came down the flu the day after Christmas which turned in to pneumonia so my week away from you turned into over two weeks. I am doing better, still weak and coughing but on the road to better heath. One other problem while I was away, I had downloaded a huge amount messages on my laptop while in Delaware and my laptop crashed. If you tried to send me a personal message from the 23rd to the 30th of December, I lost it and you will need to re-send. It is time again for your last Quarterly Report for 2001 as to the membership of the KY-CEMETERIES Mailing List and additional items of interest. The KY-CEMETERIES Mailing List has 449 members, 322 of these are subscribed to the Regular List and 127 the Digest List. If you would like to visit the archived messages you may go to http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl and type in KY-CEMETERIES. From there you can search by keyword. There is a great Rootsweb site you can go to if you want to find out what Rootsweb lists you are a member of or need to unsubscribe from a list, just follow the instructions. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ I want to thank each of you for continuing to help make this list the success it is. I also want to thank you for your support of me and your willingness to follow the list rules. I have been a List Mom now since 1997 and truly feel I have the best List Members out there who have subscribed to the Mailing Lists I take care of for Rootsweb. Just a reminder so this list is better for each of us the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at [email protected] There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as the first message from a member says Says "Happy Birthday Joan" and then Joan says "Thank you" and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Joan". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me. [email protected] 5. Please keep your Virus Scan updated as often as possible. If by chance one of our members unknowingly sends out a virus, please let me take care of it behind the scenes. Know that if you received it, I most likely did also. If you are concerned that I am not aware of the effected system, contact me personally [email protected] Please do not post to the entire list the name and e-mail address of the person you feel has the virus. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller's Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html I wish for each of you a success in the year 2002 with your most difficult genealogical mystery.
