My Great Great Grandmother was Amanda Day, here is what little I know, see if anything sounds possible as a tie into you line: Amanda Day born: Dec. 25 1828 Ky died: Dec, 1880 Daviess Co Ky From Daviess Co. Ky Marriage Records 1800-1915 Samuel H. Crow and Maud Day married at Samuel Day's Aug 24, 1858 (I do not know who Samuel was, Father, Brother, Uncle?) In 1860 they are on the Ohio Co. Ky Census They then migrate to Edwards Co, IL. Samuel died in 1874 and Amanda returns to Daviess Co. Ky She is on 1880 Davies Co Census as a widow with 3 young sons ages 11, 9 , 6 and two teenage daughters farmed out as Housekeepers. Amanda dies in Dec, 1880, I do not know where she is buried. I have a picture of Amanda and her children taken about 1875. there is an older woman in the picture identified by my Grandmother as Mrs. Day, that is all I know about her. I also have a pic of a stern looking woman, on the back of the photo is written Malinda Day, the Day is crossed out and Helm written in. Day may have been her maiden name??? It also says she is the Aunt that raised my Great Grandmother Crow. This could make her Amanda Day's sister, Aunt , or sister - in -law??? This is all I know about this Day family. Somewhere along the way someone suggested That Amanda's mother may have been a Georgia Neel or O'neal, that is pretty close to Neely, just thought I would give it a try. Thanks for you time. 1. [KY-CEM] Could New London, IA be named for London, KY area?
    2. Deborah Jaquiss
    3. Could SKS please tell me if it is possible that New London, IA is named for this area? I just recently found that my great, great grandparents, John C. Shepherd 1810-1847 and his wife Rebecca Fees or Feas 1812-1902 moved from KY to the Indian territories in what would become New London, IA. A book on early IA settlers says they were the first ones there. It suddenly occurred to me that possibly New London, IA could have been named for London, KY not London, England. If anyone knows anything about the Shepherds or Fees/Feas or has any research guidance please contact me. snip >> Subject: [KY-CEM] Re: Cemeteries in the London, KY area

    1. Re: [KY-CEM] OWEN CHAPEL CEMETERY
    2. Dear Researcher, I think you are looking in the wrong place for OWENS CHAPEL Cemetery...Paducah is in McCracken Co., Ky and the only Owens Chapel Cemetery known to me in the Purchase district of West Kentucky is Owens Chapel Cemetery in Graves County. It is in the extreme northwest corner of the county. I have two nephew's buried there. They are Randall Wyatt Mathis and Richard Kent Mathis. Both died when young adults. You could go to Melber, Ky and anyone there could direct you to Owens Chapel Cemetery. I was originally from Graves County, Ky, but have been in NC for forty-one years. I am a published author and writer and you could find the WORSHAM/WASHAM FAMILY HISTORY in the libraries at Mayfield, Ky or Benton, Ky(Marshall County) if interested. My sincre hope that this will be helpful to you. Jim Washam Goldsboro, NC
