    1. [KUNKEL-L] KUMCLER
    2. Here is a rundown on my SCHMIDT'S & KUMCLER, in Sweet Air, Baltimore County, Maryland: Frank SCHMIDT is from Germany, when ?, arrived ?, he signed a will on 19 June 1890. He was married to Catherine Elisabeth KUMCLER. Frank SCHMIDT owned two farms. He left one farm to each son, after the death of his wife. He gave each daughter approximately $1000.00 and Catherine also got the household furniture. Their four Children, what are listed in the will: Henry SCHMIDT Frank SCHMIDT Mary Catherine SCHMIDT (b) 24 Feb 1860 married Andrew John Meisner Sophia SCHMIDT married (Breyer) Frank SCHMIDT died approximately on 29 July 1890. The three witnesses were: William H. Curtis Christian SCHMIDT Peter Miller Mary Catherine SCHMIDT married Andrew John Meisner 2 Nov 1890 I have several SCHMIDT photos from the late 1800s, which apparently where cousins, but I have not been able to connect them yet. I was able to obtain Mary Catherine SCHMIDT'S death certificate and her fathers will. I was not able to find him on the naturalization for Maryland. On the name KUMCLER, (this maiden name was on Catherine's death certificate), I looked in Rootsweb.com and AOL’s bulletin board and did not come up with the name. I also checked the phone CD's for Germany and did not find the name. I though she might be easier to find. When I searched the immigration indexes, it was amazing how many SCHMIDT'S came to America, most were after 1850. If you have any information on this family it would be greatly appreciated.
