CUNKEL, KUNKLE, ZULAUF, SULOUFF I just subscribed to this list and would like to correspond with anyone interested in the CUNKEL, KUNKLE, KUNKEL, etc. surname in Harrisburg or Juniata Co. PA in the 1800s. John C. CUNKEL/KUNKLE was married before 1820 to Mary ZULAUF/SULOUFF (b. 2/__/1785 d. 10/29/1828) of Milford Twp, Mifflin (now Juniata) County, PA. Mary's gravestone has her husband's name as "John Cunkel, Esq." Their oldest child, who had reached age 21 before 23 Aug 1841, signed his name as "John C. KUNKLE, Jr." At that date three younger children were in the "guardianship" of Mary's husband, now a widower, who signed his name "John C. KUNKEL." I have copy of a letter dated 6 Jan 1899 stating "John CUNKLE, Jr.", son of Mary nee SULOUFF, was "born and raised" in Harrisburg PA. I have much info to share on Mary ZULAUF/SULOUFF and would like to exchange for more info on her husband's family and the descendants of their four children. Primary focus is in Harrisburg area beginning about 1820 or earlier. Will anyone knowing of a Cunkel, Kunkel, etc. born and raised in Harrisburg PA in the mid 1800s please contact me. Nelson R.
