Hi all, I received a copy of my Warner ancestors wills recently. It brings up some questions I would like to pose to the group... First, a bit of background: I am descended from John W. Warner of Hardwick, Warren County, NJ. He is said to have married Harriet KONKEL. My grandmother left a listing of my ancestors that indicated John W. Warner had a wife named Harriet. She did not indicate the surname for Harriet. In visiting Hardwick in October I found John W. Warner's burial monument and found the markers for his parents in the Spring Valley Church burying ground. John's wife, Harriet, is also listed in the 1860 Census enumeration for Hardwick. According to the Hardwick Historical Society, Harriet's surname was KONKEL. However, this is the only source I have that indicates this to be the case. There is no indication in their records where this information was gathered. Yet, the other information they supplied to me has been verifiable through other sources. Q1: Does anyone recognize Harriet as a KONKEL? Now the plot thickens. John W. Warner is mentioned in the will of both of his parents, Adam and Catherine (?) Warner. Adam Warner's will (dated March 2, 1832) mentions John W. Warner's half brother and half sister. His half brother is listed as Israel C. CONGLE. His half sister is listed as Eliza SHUSTER. Catherine's will (dated June 17, 1848) confirms this when Israel C. CONGLE is mentioned as one of her two sons and Eliza SHUSTER is mentioned as her daughter. Q2: Does anyone recognize Israel C. CONGLE and his sister Eliza? I am hoping to confirm the identification of Harriet KONKEL and to determine the identification of Catherine WARNER's first marriage. Many of my ancestors of this area lived in Northampton/Bucks/Wayne/Pike Counties in PA as well. Perhaps the KONKEL or CONGLE relationships were of these counties in PA. I add this as additional information to broaden the search. Sincerely yours, Stephen Emery Louisville, KY
