G&LHBIP is now accepting free listings in the forthcoming Family History Volume Supplement, to be published in the fall of 1998. This supplement will include information on family histories, pedigrees and compiled genealogies that have become available since the publication of G&LHBIP's Family History Volume in 1996 or were not included in that volume. First published in 1975, G&LHBIP is a multi-volume bibliography containing thousands of listings of genealogical books in print. The fifth edition of G&LHBIP, published in 1996-97, currently consists of four volumes: the Family History Volume, the General Reference & World Resources Volume, and two U.S. Sources & Resources Volumes. The Family History Volume alone contains more than 4,600 listings of available family histories, organized alphabetically by surname for easy reference .. Publishers and authors of family histories are invited to send the following information to G&LHBIP for inclusion in the supplement: title of their family history(ies); author(s) or editor; date of publication; whether the book is indexed and/or illustrated; whether it is cloth or paper bound; the price, including shipping; a short description of the book; a list of important allied surnames to be included in the surname index; and ordering information.
