My Husbands Great GrandAunt Karolline Marie (Mary) Niemann married Peter Julius Kunkel on January 02, 1880 in Travis Co, TX. They had fourteen children before their divorce in 1905. Travis County, TX 1880 Census Page 073 household # 616 Julis Kunkel is a white male age 26 and married and works as a farmer. He listed his place of birth as Germany and his parents were born in Germany. Mary is listed as his wife,, a white female age 18, and was born in Germany, and her parents were born in Germany. Peter Julius Kunkel was born November 11, 1852 in Posen, Germany Karoline Marie (Mary) Niemann was born Apr 1, 1860 probably in Kratze, Hanover, Germany as her younger brother was. Peter Julius Kunkel and Gotlieb George Niemann (Mary Niemann's father) were the first settlers of the area of Mills County, TX that is now known as Priddy, TX. in 1884. Peter and Mary have the happy/sad distinction of having the first white babies born in the area and the first babies to die in the area, a set of twins that only lived 13 and 15 months.
