I have a copy of First Families of Henry County, Georgia that shows: Henry Kunkle(Konkle)was born in Heslint(spelling)Germany in 1765 and died in Henry County, Ga. in 1859. The 1820 census of Laurens,SC Lexington District show Henry Kunkle with 12 in his family. land transactions of Andrew and Christian,sons of Henry areshown in the years 1837,1841 and 1842 in the SC Lexington District on Wateree Creek,Waters of the Broad River,Branches of Bear Creek,and waters of the Saluda River. People of German descent formed a settlement in Henry County,GA. called Dutchtown. There is a Dutchtown Road in the 6th District of Jonesboro Rd.,and back toward Mt. Carmel Methodist and Mt. Carmel Protsetant Churcheson Mt. Carmel Rd. Some of these families were the Conkles(Kunkles),Babbs,Ahls and Exums.These families intermarried into the Nash,White,McCullough and Abercromibe families,thus forming quite a colony.
